Community Service

One of our goals at Brandon Hills is to give back to the community. We have a special place in our hearts for the rescue organizations that do such a wonderful job of rescuing and re-homing pets. We provide services for them at our clinic at a considerable discount. We support their fundraising events with cash donation, silent auction item donation, or fundraising. Below are just a few of the events we support.

We are a platinum sponsor of the Humane Society Wag-a-tail Walk-a-thon which usually takes place the first Sunday in September after the long weekend. Not only does the clinic contribute to the event but our staff volunteer thier time on that day to attend the event. We put up a table, usually with give aways for people attending. Staff walk their own dogs or volunteer to walk Humane Society dogs in the hopes that someone there will see the dogs and consider adoption. Thank you to our staff who are so supportive of the event!

Brandon Hills organizes the other veterinary clinics in the Brandon area to collect food donations before Christmas for rescue organizations. We pick up and pool those donations at our clinc where the rescues pick up the donated food. This program is called “This Season is Fur Everyone”. It initially began by the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association. To date, we have collected over 2,500 pounds of food! Thank you to all who have donated.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month!! For the month of October, every year, our clinic encourages pet owners to bring their pet’s in and make a donation. For a minimum donation of $10.00 we will clip your pet’s toe nails, paint your dog’s nails pink, or apply hot pink soft paws to your cat’s nails! The pets look adorable and you will be supporting a great cause! All proceeds raised are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

We also support the Manitoba Alzheimer’s Society.
